WoW

Update: June 6th, 2011

Azeroth beckons…:
And so it did. Since I found out about the game during 2004, I couldn’t wait to get into the beta – which I got by November. By then, I played through the closed and open betas, till the game was released in Europe in February 2005. Thus, my account was created the 20th of February at 16:48. I have during that time never had any breaks, and been an active raider (yes, I’m a PvE’er) ever since.

Avatars of the Gnub:
Until the Burning Crusade released, I played my Holy Paladin Gnuliath (previously human), which was named after my beloved paladin from Diablo II, who also was my first – and only – level 99. With him, I saw Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Temple of Ahn’Qiraj and a small bit of the old 40-man Naxxramas. All in all, I got to see a fair bit of the game.

When The Burning Crusade was upon us, I heard about the shaman-class being given to Alliance as well, and got increasingly interested in the elemental shaman idea. I decided to reroll, and thus, the draenei shaman Gnubigena was born. Since then, I’ve never looked back (except for the usual messing about with alts) – I simply love the class.

Later, in November 2009 during Wrath of the Lich King, I transferred to Horde, and Gnubigena became Gnub, which then later was changed from troll to goblin. Have to match the mentality, after all.

I wrote a bit about the naming of my characters in an earlier blog post. It does a bit more into detail about those, why I picked them, and a bit more in depth approach to the previous sections.

Current occupation:
Active raider of the guild Myth on EU-Turalyon, which is currently actively raiding the latest PvE-content.

The WoW-community:
While the official forums is a bit beyond my taste, I usually hang around on Wowhead-forums, under my standard nick, Gnub. Mostly found on the Shaman-forums, I’ve grown increasingly attached to pretty much all of the site, and tend to drop by the other forums and throw in a clever and/or helpful comment once in a while. This also increased quite a lot when I got the position of “Moderator” (and the title <Thunder Gnu>) in May 2010. On top of that, the site is heavily powered by Wowhead, as the tooltips are very useful.

The infamous “too long; didn’t read” version:
My characters are the following on EU-Turalyon-Horde:

I also keep a little fun alt on my old realm (EU-Emerald Dream-Alliance), for social purposes and to see the Alliance side of Cataclysm:

  • Lachrein – Worgen Protection Warrior
